Peoria's Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities department is responsible for the city-wide programs and facilities in the Libraries, Community Facilities, Recreation Programs, Parks and Trails, and Sports Complex divisions.

Libraries   Libraries
The Main Library and Sunrise Mountain Library offer adult, teen and youth programs and services such as Storytimes, Summer Reading Programs, Computer Classes, Teen Advisory Groups, Book Clubs, and special events. Browse the Library Catalog
Parks and Trails   Parks and Trails
Plans and maintains city parks, most right of ways, trails, open space and most retention basins. It also designs and develops the Department’s Capital Improvement Plan, performs plan reviews for new planned area developments and oversees graffiti removal throughout the City.
Recreation Programs   Recreation Programs
Wide variety of programs, activities and classes for children, teens, adults, seniors and people with disabilities including aquatics programs, sports, outdoor recreation and special interest classes offered at city-run facilities throughout Peoria.

Peoria's virtual recreation and experience videos bring a new sort of recreation to residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sports Complex  

Sports Complex
Peoria Sports Complex contains 13 full sized baseball fields and is home to the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres for Spring Training and year round player development. The complex hosts various baseball tournaments, concerts, arts and crafts festivals, car shows, corporate events and other community events. Peoria Veterans Memorial  

Veterans Memorial
Peoria's Veterans Memorial is located inside of Rio Vista Community Park. The memorial pays tribute to past, present, and future veterans and their families for the sacrifices they have made to protect our country, its ideals and virtues. It consists of an Honor Wall and the Senator John McCain Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza.

In a 2013 survey of randomly-selected Peoria residents, most experienced a good quality of life and believed the city was a good place to live; almost all reported they plan on staying in the city for the next five years. On average, residents gave favorable ratings to almost all of Peoria’s services.
