Drop-In Program

May 29 – July 19 (closed July 4)
Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

This exciting program offers a full schedule of on-site activities and daily field trips that feature arts and crafts, group games and free play to help kids have a fun-filled summer and experience new and old recreational activities. Optional off-site field trips are offered throughout the week at an additional cost. Trip information is below and will also be available at the sites.

Supply Fee (includes t-shirt):   $65 for Residents  |  $110 for Non-Residents
Registrations and field trip/activity payments will not be accepted at sites. Payment must be paid before 5 a.m. the day of the trip.

Program Note:  This program is a drop-in program. The children may leave at anytime without permission. If this is not a program for you and your child, please refer to the City of Peoria Summer Camp program Program. LATE PICK-UPS: This policy is strictly enforced, so make arrangements for your child to be picked up no later than 2:30 p.m.

SPECIAL NEEDS: If your child has a disability that would necessitate some assistance and is not using DDD funding call Kathleen Kresl at 623-773-7108. Children attending the program must be able to toilet, dress and feed themselves independently.

Resident Rate: If where you permanently reside or live is located within the corporate limits of the City of Peoria and you pay property taxes to the City, you are eligible for the resident rate. Proof of residency is required at the time of registration. Acceptable proof is a copy of your property tax statement showing the physical location of your residence, or we can look this up at

Children need to bring a non-perishable lunch each day they attend. The Peoria Unified School District offers a “Summer Food Program” with free breakfast and lunch, Monday-Thursday, at Ira Murphy and Sun Valley Elementary. Trip registration accepted ONLINE ONLY; no trip registrations available at the site. View field trip price list. Register for field trips.
Those that are registered in Summer Recreation can participate in the daily field trips. Transportation and supervision is provided for all field trips. ALL PASSES ARE NONTRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE once the program begins. Dates, fees, packages & times may change.

Program Reminders

  1. Once registration is open, you can register at Community Services.
    You can also Register for Summer Recreation online or by calling 623-773-7137.
  2. There is no additional weekly fee to attend the program; however, optional field trips are offered at an additional cost on-line.
  3. All registrations must include proof of residency (i.e., current water bill or address on personal check) and full payment.
  4. Lunch: Parents must provide a non-perishable sack lunch.

Rio Vista Day Camp

August 2 & 3, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., at the Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866 W. Thunderbird Rd.
This program is an extension of our Summer Recreation program. $25 per day. This camp gives kids, kindergarten through 12 years old, access to various amenities offered and have the opportunity to participate in dodgeball, video games, arts/crafts, movies and much more. Note this camp will be capped at 150 participants.
