Break Camps

Peoria AMPM Break Camps provide licensed child care during the PUSD holiday breaks, closed federal holidays. The dates and locations of the current break camps are listed below. Field trips held during break camp require written permission from the parent prior to departure and child must receive a trip wristband to go on the trips. PUSD buses are used (may be non-air conditioned), and water is available on each bus.

Break Camps feature STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) projects and may include some of the following: field trips, guest speaker or special entertainment at the site.

  • Available during school breaks, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Children Kindergarten - 14 years old
  • Operated by the City of Peoria
  • Located at Various Peoria Unified School District (PUSD) Elementary Schools

Program Fees:

$27 per day for those currently enrolled in AMPM Program, includes breakfast (until 7:30 a.m.), morning and afternoon snack and scheduled field trip. Lunch not included. A nonperishable lunch and drink are required.

Additional $5 registration fee for children NOT currently enrolled in the AM/PM Program. All new participants must complete the Emergency, Information and Immunization Record Card (PDF) and attach a copy of your child’s Immunization record to the Registration form, per AZ DHS requirements. This can be turned into Neighborhood and Family Services (formally Community Services) located in the Development and Community Services Building-9875 N 85th Ave or Fax to 623-773-7180. Your child may not attend without those documents. 

A $10 registration fee will be assessed to registrations submitted after the Early Bird Deadline.

Spring Break Update: 

Good Afternoon Spring Break Camp Parents and Guardians,

Due to ongoing concerns due to the Covid-19 situation, The City of Peoria Spring Break camp will be closing Wednesday March 18th at 6pm and remain closed on Thursday and Friday. The health and safety of our students, families and staff remains a top priority to the City of Peoria.

The city will issue refunds for the remaining two days (Thursday and Friday) to all families registered for camp. 

Additional, the City of Peoria AM/PM before and after school program will be closed during the week of March 23rd-27th. The health and safety of our participants, families and staff are a top priority and the City of Peoria will be assessing the situation on a day to day basis past these closure dates.

The city will not draft program fees for the week of March 23rd-27th

Fees will be assessed at the Extra Fee section during the registration process.  Registrants will choose any dates the child is
expected to attend.  Any dates not selected during the registration process will be charge at higher rates during the audit.

Cost: $27 per day

Early Bird Deadline 

Registration will close March 12 and re-open on Monday, March 16 with an additional $10 registration fee. Daily fee will be $37 per day.

Field Trips on and off site: 
Join us for a fun filled week of activities, events and games. We will be having a great STEM program coming to the sites. 

Pangaea Land of the Dinosaurs is an indoor interactive exhibit with more than 80 lifelike animatronic dinosaurs that roam through exhibits and true-to-life recreations of prehistoric habitats. Pangaea is designed to transport guests back to the age of the dinosaurs.

Limitless Learning (On site) is brought to our camp by Stratum Laser tag Educational programs. It is a hands-on learning program that teaches through project-based learning and STEM instruction. This program provides a rich experience that works to create excitement!

Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium, & Safari Park  Participants will be seeing animals in the zoo and aquarium and observe the animals behaviors during Wildlife Encounters during their expedition here at the zoo. They will also experience natural and man-made habitats of the resident wild life and marine animals. This trip does have some walking, so wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Don't forget your water!

Mondays, August 13, 2018 - April 30, 2019 - School dismissal (1:00/1:40 p.m.) to 6 p.m.
$15.00 per day (except current AM/PM participants enrolled Full Time in the AM & PM program)
Non-AM/PM participants: one-time registration fee of $5, plus a $20 deposit, and one day of early release attendance fee.

After school care offered for Early Release Mondays (ERM) throughout the school year at all PUSD schools located within the City of Peoria. Participants enrolled in a Part Time schedule will pay $15.00 for PM program on those Mondays. ERM ends April 30 and fees will go back to $9.50 for Monday PM. 


February 13 & 14, 2020 - School dismissal (10:00/10:40 a.m.) to 6 p.m.
Non-perishable sack lunch required
