The mission of the Peoria Arts Commission is to enhance the quality of life in the community by fostering and supporting cultural opportunities for both local artists and the general public.
About the Peoria Arts Commission
The Peoria Arts Commission is a seven member commission. It is one of about 20 advisory boards and commissions appointed by the City Council. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. Meetings will move to the fourth Tuesday of every month starting with the August 2018 meeting. "Barrel Cactus" Public Art Installation
The City of Peoria and Gordon Huether Studios will be installing a new public art piece at Deer Village Park, near 91st Ave and Lake Pleasant Parkway. The sculpture "Barrel Cactus" will be installed on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 10:00 am. UPDATE: This event has been postponed to a future date, To Be Decided. Please check back at a later date for information.
Paloma Park Sculpture Installation Updates
The City of Peoria hosted a community input and artist encounter event with sculptor, Beth Nybeck, on March 1st and 2nd, 2019. Beth will be incorporating the community input into her new sculpture, VIDA, which will be installed at Paloma Community Park.
David Boyer will also be installing his sculpture Song Birds at Paloma Park.
Jan 30, 2019 - 'Blooming Spire' Installation Completed
A dedication ceremony for the 50 foot tall sculpture by artist Jeff Zischke was held in January of 2019. The completed sculpture is installed near the Lake Pleasant Crossing Shopping Center, at the corner of Lake Pleasant Parkway and Happy Valley Road (located behind CHAR).

Peoria Arts Grant Program
The Peoria Arts Commission is pleased to announce the 2020-21 Arts Grant Program for non-profit Arts Organizations. The purpose of the grant program is to inspire, enhance and support the arts in the City of Peoria.
The Peoria Arts Commission is able to issue individual grants of up to $5000 for each awarded application.
Applicants must meet all the eligibility requirements and submit a grant proposal application to be considered. The opening for the applications is January 30, 2020 and the deadline for submitting the application is April 2, 2020. Applicants must use our online system at through our website at:: https://cityofpeoriaaz.submittable.com Sign up and create your own login to apply.
Final Grant Reporting from our previous Award Recipients from our 2019-2020 Art Grants has been extended indefinitely.
Applicants will be notified of funding in August 2020 with awards to follow.
