Peoria's Neighborhood and Human Services department is responsible for the city-wide programs and facilities including Arts and Theater, Code Compliance, Community Assistance, Festivals and Special Events, and Recreation Programs.
Arts & Theater
The Arts & Theater division includes the Peoria Arts Commission, the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, and the city's Public Art program.You can also view a calendar of upcoming events and performances.
Peoria's Code Compliance division is responsible for protecting the health, safety, and welfare of citizens by enforcing the city's codes and ordinances. You can also Report a Code Violation Online.
The Community Assistance division includes assistance programs for Peoria residents, HOA classes, Human Services, as well as information on community grants and Federal programs.
Festivals and Special Events
The Festivals and Special Events division hosts many exciting events throughout the year. Some of these signature events include the Dolly Sanchez Memorial Easter Egg Hunt, the All American Festival, the Halloween Monster Bash, and the Old Town Holiday Festival to name a few.

About the Neighborhood and Human Services Department
The Neighborhood and Human Services department is a new department that as created from existing functions in need of greater alignment to provide a higher-level of responsiveness to community, neighborhood and human services challenges in Peoria. No additional staffing was requested or added through the FY19 budget planning process, rather, existing functions were combined and positions re-assigned.
