Peoria Fire Medical is proud to be one of 148 agencies to receive Internationally Accredited Agency status with CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc. (CPSE). In addition, we have been honored with several awards and distinctions in the medical field.
Heart Safe City
The Peoria Fire-Medical Department accepted a recognition award for being a HEART Safe City. The award recognizes Arizona schools, communities and businesses that meet or exceed criteria for cardiac arrest preparedness.
The designation is through the Arizona Department of Health Services SHARE (Save Hearts in Arizona Registry and Education) Program. The City of Peoria earned the designation by showing a plan for responding to cardiac arrest emergencies, offering both hands only and conventional CPR and training, and successfully training at least half the city staff in CPR. It also has AED’s on site that are registered with the SHARE Program and submits reports to the SHARE Program after an AED is used.
Premier EMS Agency
The Peoria Fire-Medical Department has been awarded the distinction of being a Premier Emergency Medical Service Agency from the Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS).
The Premier EMS Agency program is a quality assurance initiative through the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) in the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma System (BEMSTS). The program recognizes Arizona’s EMS agencies for their dedication to improve the care they provide for their patients. Premier Agencies have demonstrated the highest level of patient care in five of five EMS categories.
