IF YOUR METER IS SCHEDULED FOR REPLACEMENT, YOU WILL RECEIVE A POSTCARD NOTIFICATION FROM THE CITY IN THE MAIL.
The city of Peoria will be replacing approximately 7,000 water meters that are reaching their end of life, to residences and businesses throughout the city beginning November 26, 2018. This is an on-going effort by the City of Peoria to improve the water delivery system and increase efficiency by expanding the City's automated meter reading. The project will have minimal impact to customers.
Residents will not need to be at home for the meter replacement work to be performed. However, a Concord Utility Services employee will make a courtesy knock at the door to let residents know that the work will be performed, which will take approximately 15 minutes. Concord Utility Services is the City’s contractor performing this work, their trucks and employees will be clearly identified by their logo.

Does someone need to enter my home to install my meter?
No. All work can be completed without entering your home. Concord Utility Services employees will not ask or need to enter your premises.
How long will the installation take?
The installation usually takes about 15 minutes, however if the meter box setting requires any additional work the installation time would be extended accordingly.
What hours will Concord Utility Service employees be working?
Between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday.
Am I required to be at home during my meter replacement?
No. Prior to replacing your meter, the USI Services employee will knock on the door to let you know that they will be installing the new meter. You do not have to be home for the replacement to occur.
How will I identify that the installer is an employee of Concord Utility Services?
All Concord Utility Services installers wear distinctive safety orange shirts or jackets and carry Concord Utility Services badges. Their vehicles will display the name Concord Utility Services.
How can I verify their employment?

Will I be charged for the installation?

What if I don't want this service?
While we will try to minimize any inconvenience to residents, this equipment installation is necessary. This replacement is an on-going effort by the City of Peoria to improve the water delivery system and expand the City's automated meter reading program.
