Registration for City of Peoria Summer Youth Sports Camps

Registration for Peoria's summer youth sports camps for boys and girls is now open.

Registration for Peoria’s summer youth sports camps for boys and girls is now open. Programs being offered are soccer, volleyball, softball, basketball and baseball. The first camp session begins June 3 and the final one week session begins July 15, for a total of six sessions. There is a limit of 24 participants per age division. The registration fee is $60 for Peoria residents and $80 for non-residents for each session. The deadline for registration is the Thursday prior to the start of each session.

To register for the camp programs:
• Register Online Using RecConnect at http://www.peoriaaz.gov/recconnect
• Call Customer Service staff at 623-773-7137 during business hours (Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
To receive the Peoria resident rate the registrant must permanently reside or live within the corporate limits of the City of Peoria and pay property taxes to the City.  Proof of residency is required at the time of registration.  Acceptable proof of residency is a copy of the property tax statement showing the physical location of residence. County Island residents who do not pay taxes directly to the City of Peoria are not eligible for the resident rate. Children who attend schools in the Peoria Unified School District are not automatically considered Peoria residents and the above mentioned residency requirement applies.

Softball Camps (Girls) – Rob Shorts, Head Coach of Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, will instruct players using diverse training and challenging drills to develop batting, fielding, running, and other skills to help them improve their overall game and prepare for the next softball season.  Players will
need to bring cleats, a glove, a bat, and their own helmet (if possible).  Balls and other training equipment will be provided.
               
Baseball Camps (Boys) – Coaches from It’s All In The Game training center will work with players to develop batting, fielding, running, and other skills to help them improve their overall game and prepare them for next baseball season.  Players will receive intense and diverse training in baseball specific conditioning, how to keep your arm and body healthy throughout the season, and what techniques will work best for them as a player.  Players will need to bring cleats, a glove, a bat, and their own helmet (if possible).  Balls and other training equipment will be provided.

Basketball Camps (Boys and Girls) – Sunrise Mountain High School Head Basketball Coach Jason Pasinski and assistant Gary Rath will work with players to develop dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills.  Players of all skill levels will be challenged as they take their game to the next level.  Players should come ready to run with athletic clothing and basketball or athletic footwear.  Basketballs and other training equipment will be provided.

Volleyball Camps (Girls) – Coaches from USA Volleyball, Arizona Chapter, will work with players on developing skills in hitting, serving, defense, teamwork and more.  Coaches will use drills and games to help players understand the finer points of the game and help them gain valuable experience for play at the next level.  Players should come in athletic clothing and the appropriate athletic footwear.  Volleyballs and other training equipment will be provided.

Soccer Camps (Boys and Girls) – Instructor from the Valparaiso Futbol Club will lead participants through a series of drills and games that focus on building speed, quickness, and overall skills applicable to both indoor and outdoor soccer.  Players should come ready to run with athletic clothing and the appropriate athletic footwear.  Soccer balls and other training equipment will be provided.
