Peoria Sports Complex Celebrates Anniversary
The 2018 spring training season marks 25 years for the complex on Feb. 23
As the 2018 spring training season draws closer, the Peoria Sports Complex has turned its attention to the fans. This year Peoria is honoring the hardworking people who make up the community with Your Peoria Days all season long.
“This season truly serves as a ‘thank you’ to our residents. When we embarked on this journey more than 25 years ago, we knew we wanted to create a family-friendly baseball experience for our visitors and our residents,” said Mayor Cathy Carlat. “We wanted Peoria Sports Complex to belong to them, something to bring treasured memories, as families and friends grow together in the love of the game. The vibe and energy spring training brings to our city each year is exciting and I’m looking forward to another fantastic season.”
Through Your Peoria Days, fans will have the chance to receive special discounts and promotions for nearly every game. The discounts and promotions are specifically geared toward fans that work, serve, and volunteer in capacities that protect and provide for others, including teachers, paramedics, nurses, police officers, firefighters, volunteers, active military and retired veterans. For example, first responders and military members will be able to purchase tickets at a reduced price of 25 percent on Value Valor Days, presented by Navy Federal Credit Union, on Feb. 24 and March 5, 12, and 25. More promotional days include the following: Family Fun Days, Paw Party Days, St. Patrick’s Day, Kids Days, Giveaway Days, Volunteer Appreciation Day, Nurse Appreciation Day, Teacher Appreciation Day and Fan Appreciation Day.
“We’re excited to celebrate 25 years of spring training in Peoria with all of our fans,” said Blake Englert, Peoria Sports Complex Operations Manager. “By providing a variety of discounts, promotions and giveaways, it’s our way of saying thank you to such a generous, supportive community.”
In addition to those appreciation days, residents can save 25 percent on tickets with the Residents Rewards program, donate money to the Peoria Education Foundation with PUSDeal, get a discount on family tickets and food with the Peoria Pack, and earn the chance to get four additional tickets for February games at 25 percent off plus 25 cent soft drink refills with the Common Cents special. Last but not least, you can upgrade your ballpark experience at any time for $25 at the All You Can Eat Terrace, Craft Beer Courtyard and Chef’s a la Carte. Chef’s a la Carte is a new action station menu concept offered this year that includes gourmet ballpark fare and savory dishes tailor made for fans.
