Peoria on the Go (POGO) New Circulator Bus in Peoria

 

PEORIA, Ariz. (April 15, 2019) – Peoria on the Go (POGO) a new circulator bus route in north Peoria will begin on Monday, April 22. This service is free to ride and will operate in each direction – clockwise and counter-clockwise.   Service will be provided every 30 minutes.

The counter-clockwise route will begin at 83rd Ave. and Mariners Way and run along 83rd with a stop at Arrowhead Mall. POGO will continue to Deer Valley Rd. and then head west to Lake Pleasant Parkway and follow that back south along 91st Ave., making its way back along Bell Rd. to its original destination.

The clockwise route will also start at 83rd Avenue and Mariners Way and will run the opposite direction ensuring that riders are able to get both to and from their ultimate destination quickly.

“Improving the connectivity of our community has been a goal of mine for many years, and I am thrilled to introduce the POGO as our latest addition to Peoria’s robust transportation network,” said Mayor Cathy Carlat. “Our city is fast growing; and with the addition of POGO, our residents will have increased mobility to access even more areas of our remarkable community.”

Locations along the route will include the P83 entertainment district, Arrowhead Transit Center at Arrowhead Towne Center, Sunrise Mountain Library, Sunrise and Liberty High Schools, multiple grocery and drug stores, retail and restaurants, medical offices, multi and single-family residences and trailheads.

Riders will be able to track the location and progress of the bus by downloading an app to their devices.  The TSO POGO app is available to download from iTunes or Google Play.

POGO will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and  will pick up and drop off riders at approximately 30 bus stops in each direction located along the route. 

Buses are wheelchair accessible and have bike racks.
