Peoria Seeks Qualified Citizens for Two Boards

The city of Peoria is seeking qualified citizen volunteers to fill vacancies on the Building Board of Appeals and the Design Review Board. The Building Board of Appeals rules on appeals to technical interpretations of the building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire, and property maintenance codes. The Design Review Board hears design review appeals, works with city staff on issues related to the design review process. Two regular positions are available on each board based on the following qualifications:

  • Building Board of Appeals: A Peoria resident and Arizona registered architect or structural engineer doing business in the city of Peoria; and a Peoria resident licensed in Arizona as an electrical, mechanical, fire protection or plumbing contractor.
  • Design Review Board: A registered architect residing in or maintaining an office in the city of Peoria; and a professional with a background or experience in land planning and/or urban design.
