Visit the New Contemporary Quilts Exhibit at the West Valley Art Museum
The new exhibit at the West Valley Art Museum (WVAM) features a Fiber Art Retrospective with creative colorful contemporary artistic quilts. The exhibit is currently on view in the WVAM gallery on the first floor of Peoria City Hall, 8401 W. Monroe St. There will be an artists’ reception on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. giving everyone an opportunity to learn more about the contemporary quilt art genre. The event is free to the public and light refreshments provided. Also on view are hand needle felted fiber art pieces by Anna Marie Peterson, who, in her 102nd year, continues to explore the world of exotic birds and animals expressing each in her own colorful handiwork. Regular gallery hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This special exhibit will continue on view until Jan. 24. For more information, go to wvam.org.
