Landfills
You can also choose to dispose of items at two different landfills. Their hours of operation are listed below. City of Peoria residents are charged a minimum fee of $8.00 per load at both the Deer Valley Transfer Station and at the Northwest Landfill, or $20.52 per ton at the Deer Valley Transfer Station or $16.37 per ton at the Northwest Landfill. Your utility bill will be requested as proof of residency.

During the Holidays how does my schedule change?
The regular schedule does change during the holidays. For the recorded holiday schedule you can call the Information Service Line at 623-773-7441. A new Solid Waste Collection and Information Brochure was mailed to all residents mid year. To request a copy of this schedule, call the Solid Waste Division at 623-773-7431.

Why was my garbage missed?
Many times containers are blocked, over loaded with branches, items not bagged or the container was not out by 6:00 a.m. You can get information as to why it was not picked up or to request a pickup by calling the Solid Waste Division at 623-773-7431.

People keep leaving containers out on the sidewalk after the pick up hours, who do I call to report this?
You need to call the Solid Waste Division at 623-773-7431. A Solid Waste Inspector will make contact with the residents.

What Items Are Household Hazardous Waste?
Motor Oil, Paint, Paint Thinners, Pesticides, Batteries, Anti-Freeze, Gasoline, Insecticides, Household Cleaners, Hobby Supplies, Pool Chemicals, Roofing Sealers, Gardening supplies, and up to four (4) on-road tires.

Absolutely NO Ammunition, Guns, or Radio Active Materials. If you are not sure if an item is considered household hazardous waste...call the Solid Waste Division at 623-773-7431.

What do I do with my household hazardous waste?
You can call the Information Line at 623-773-7441 to hear a recorded message of our next drop off site and date for household hazardous waste or you can call the Solid Waste Division at 623-773-7431.

How do I dispose of loose trash?                                                               
We provide a loose trash clean up once a year, you will find that information in your Solid Waste Collection and Information Brochure. You can also schedule a Special Haul by calling our Solid Waste Division at 623-773-7431. There is a fee of $25.00 for every fifteen minutes required to load the items.
