Each photo is stamped with the location, date, time,
posted speed limit, vehicle speed and time into the red
cycle. Additionally, there is a 12 second video clip of
each violation. When the sensor detects a violation, the main camera is triggered and photographs the vehicle prior to crossing the RED violation line while the traffic signal is already red. Next taken are the plate photograph and the photograph of the vehicle continuing past the RED violation line into the intersection while the traffic signal is red. The final driver photograph is taken from across the intersection and is triggered by the main camera. The system uses encryption to safeguard the image evidence against alteration. At the scene, the system gives each image and its data a unique signature to confirm its authentic status. Public key cryptography and additional encryption processes secure the transmission process. Additional Note: Arizona law defines "Intersection" as the area embraced within the prolongation or connection of the lateral curb lines… * At Photo Enforced intersections within The City of Peoria, the prolongation of the lateral curb lines are clearly marked with a red thermal tape on the asphalt. This identifies the violation point.
