Peoria Youth Sports is excited to offer a series of camps in basketball, dance, and cheer over the next few months of the year.  We have partnered with a local provider of professional camps, Future Stars International, to create several opportunities for players to train and improve prior to the start of the next season.  Here is a list of some of the activities coming up.

Pro Basketball Camp (Winter Break)

Day & Time: SESSION 1 - Tuesday, 12/27 through Friday, 12/30 from 9:00am-1:00pm SESSION 2 -  Tuesday, 1/3 through Friday, 1/6 from 9:00am-1:00pm

Ages: 5-14

Location: Rio Vista Recreation Center (8866 W. Thunderbird Rd. / 101 & Thunderbird)   

Description:  Keep your kids busy during the winter break, learn basketball fundamentals, skill development, defensive/offensive drills, shooting drills, specific basketball situational reads and 5-on-5 competition from former college and professional players and coaches for an intense comprehensive learning structure. Plus a special guest speaker (current NBA player). Camp is affiliated with the Phoenix Suns.

Fall 2011 Soccer Training Camp
 

City of Peoria Sports and the Valparaiso United Futbol Club have teamed up to provide offseason training camps to help participants advance their skills and gain a greater love of the game. Training methods will be based on developing progressions and mastering control of your body and movements.

 

When: Fridays (6 weeks from Nov. 11 – Dec. 16) 
Where: Rio Vista Community Park 
Cost: $60 for Peoria Resident / $80 for Non-Resident

Teen Sports Camps 

Teen Sports Camps are offered for participants ages 12-17. Basketball (Boys & Girls), Volleyball (Girls), Soccer (Boys & Girls), and Softball (Girls). Three, two-week sessions are set to run between Jun. 6 and Jul. 19 at the Rio Vista Recreation Center and Community Park. Participants take part in sport specific training, speed, quickness and agility drills. Look for more information including registration details on our sports website starting Feb. 1.
