Proposed Tax Code Changes

 

The City of Peoria is providing notice of proposed changes to the Peoria Tax Code.  On or after October 18, 2011, the Peoria City Council will consider ratifying the following conforming changes based on approved revisions to the Model City Tax Code:
 
The Municipal Tax Code Commission authorized five housekeeping changes to the  Model City Tax Code.  The changes modify the requirements for payment of tax by a  successor in business; extend the sunset date for the installation of solar energy device exemption; incorporate two preemptions passed by the State Legislature; and clarify the  taxability of medical marijuana sales.
