Project Description
The Peoria Police Department’s Domestic and Youth Violence Reduction Team (DYVRT) program will create a multi-disciplinary approach to reducing juvenile offenses while strengthening family based protective factors through a uniquely tailored intervention program. The goals of the DYVRT program are:
1) To implement a community oriented, multi-disciplinary approach to reducing juvenile offenses and recidivism by 10% through proactive family based intervention;
2) To develop a coordinated intervention strategy with prosecutors, schools, and community and social service agencies; and
3) To increase the effectiveness of domestic and juvenile criminal investigations through evidence collection, victim follow through and increasing investigative integrity through prosecutorial success by 20%.
