Water Resources Coordinator
FLSA Status: Exempt
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to
perform a variety of routine to moderately difficult
professional-level hydrologic, engineering, and geologic
work including data analysis in support of water management
planning, regulatory compliance and water supply well
development. This is accomplished by collecting and
analyzing water resource data, providing water resource
technical support, providing water resources management
planning, and providing water resource hydrologic computer
modeling.

Collects and analyzes water
resource data by collecting and analyzing aquifer
pumping test data, regional hydrologic and geologic
data; coordinating with Finance Department-Revenue
Collection Specialist to extract pertinent residential
and non residential water billing and use; performing
complex hydrologic and engineering calculations,
coordinating with Utilities Operations staff to collect
data; maintaining hydrograph information, providing
hydrologic and/or geologic support for field
investigations, and providing field oversight of
contractors during drilling and construction of water
supply wells. |

support by completing water management regulatory permit
applications, reviewing water resource studies and
evaluations, preparing and evaluating water resource,
supply and demand studies, creating reports on City
water use, managing and administering contracts, and
providing input and coordinating data for annual budget
development. |

Provides water resource management
planning by assisting in the development of the Water
Resources Master Plan, and acting as secondary liaison
to regional water planning meetings. |

Providing water resource hydrologic
computer modeling by maintaining and updating the
groundwater hydrologic computer model in support of
compliance and planning, interfacing with Utilities-GIS
staff to coordinate data analysis, coordinating with
Arizona Department of Water Resources-Hydrology Computer
Modeling staff, and coordinating with other entities for
regional continuity. |

REQUIREMENTS:

Formal Education |
Work requires broad knowledge in a
general professional or technical field. Knowledge is
normally acquired through four years of college
resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. |

Experience |
Over one year up to and including
three years experience. |
|
Supervision |
Work requires the occasional
direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees,
interns, volunteers or temporary employees. |
|

Decisions regarding implementation
of policies may be made. Contact may involve support of
controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive
