Senior Civil Engineer
FLSA Status: Exempt
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to
design, review and manage infrastructure, development side
and public improvement projects, participating in the
preparation and execution of capital improvement plans, act
as liaison to outside agencies, administer contracts, and to
address citizen concerns. This is accomplished by reviewing
plans and specifications, designing solutions, expansion,
construction or relocation projects, coordinating with
developers, contractors, consultants, the public and
departments, developing plans and specifications,
participating in consultant selection, coordinating
inspections, and monitoring budgets. Other duties include
negotiating fees, managing field operations, preparing
grants, and completing special projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

Formal Education |
Work requires broad knowledge in a
general professional or technical field. Knowledge is
normally acquired through four years of college
resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. |

Experience |
Over seven years up to and
including nine years experience. |
|
Supervision |
Work requires the occasional
direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees,
interns, volunteers or temporary employees. |
|
Human Collaboration Skills |
Decisions regarding implementation
of policies may be made. Contact may involve support of
controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive
issues or important presentations. Contacts may involve
stressful, negative interactions with the public
requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond
