Human Resources Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to
provide technical support to the programs and operations of
the department. This is accomplished by developing
information and responding to inquiries on employment,
policy and procedure, compensation, and benefits. Other
duties include recommending new processes and procedures,
completing surveys, researching information, ensuring
compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and
participating in related activities.

issues, researching information, analyzing problems,
responding to department and employee inquiries, and

relations by planning and prioritizing tasks,
researching and formulating policies and procedures,

exit processes. |

Gathers, enters and retrieves
payroll and other data by researching and receiving
data, entering and auditing employee data to ensure
accurate interface with payroll, tracking statistics,
analyzing and reviewing reports, maintaining electronic
employee records, and recommending additional processes. |

departments by receiving and reviewing requests,
processing benefits information, facilitating employee
relations discussions, setting up and facilitating
training activities, identifying new opportunities, and
coordinating information with departments, employees and

Formal Education |
Work requires knowledge of a
specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature
which may be obtained with a two year associate's
degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical,
business, vocational, or correspondence school.
Appropriate certification may be awarded upon
satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. |
|
Experience |
Over one year up to and including
three years experience. |
|
Supervision |
Work requires the occasional
direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees,
interns, volunteers or temporary employees. |
|
Human Collaboration Skills |
Work may require providing advice
to others outside direct reporting relationships on
specific problems or general policies. Contacts may
require the consideration of different points of view to
reach agreement. Elements of persuasion may be
necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas. |

Freedom to Act |
The employee normally performs the
job by following established standard operating
procedures and/or policies. There is a choice of the

Advanced - Ability to read

system of real numbers; practical application of
fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and
