Title:
Environmental Quality Assurance Officer
FLSA Status: Exempt
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to
ensure compliance with all environmental regulations. This
is accomplished by scheduling and coordinating compliance
monitoring, validating field data and information,
completing and submitting reports and developing and
updating policies. Other duties include coordinating public
relations projects, developing and approving quality
assurance documents, and serving as project manager for
local, state and federal programs.

Completes reporting requirements by
coordinating testing and sampling process, overseeing
inspector schedules, ordering equipment and supplies,
maintaining databases, coordinating efforts with other
divisions and departments, and collaborating on special
studies. |

developing and submitting regulatory agency reports and
data, composing correspondence, reviewing permits and
regulations, acting as liaison for questions and
inquiries, and developing standard operating procedures. |

information, entering and tracking data, reviewing
compliance lab data and procedures, ensuring licensing
requirements are met, auditing the lab and pretreatment
program, developing recommendations, developing lab
analysis procedures, and backing up lab technicians. |

Supervises activities by scheduling
and assigning tasks, supervising sampling events, acting
as project manager, and leading projects. |

activities by representing the city on environmental
issues, participating in meetings and on committees,

REQUIREMENTS:

Formal Education |
Work requires broad knowledge in a
general professional or technical field. Knowledge is
normally acquired through four years of college
resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. |
|
Experience |
Over five years up to and including
seven years experience. |
|
Supervision |
Work requires supervising and
monitoring performance for a regular group of employees
or division within a department including providing
input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work
objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and
realigning work as needed. A first line supervisor
typically performs these functions. |
|
Human Collaboration Skills |
Recommendations regarding policy
development and implementation are made and/or
recommended. Evaluates customer satisfaction, develops
cooperative associations, and utilizes resources to
continuously improve customer satisfaction. |
|
Freedom to Act |
The employee normally performs the
duty assignment according to his or her own judgment,
requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary.
Special projects are managed with little oversight and
assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance
reviewed periodically. |
|
Technical Skills |
Skilled: Work requires a
comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field
with use of analytical judgment and decision-making
abilities appropriate to the work environment of the
organization. |

Budget Responsibility |
Position has moderate fiscal
responsibility. Makes recommendations toward fiscal
decisions within the department. May be responsible for
the billing, collection and/or accounting of funds.

Reading |
Advanced - Ability to read
