Fire Chief Magazine honored Peoria Fire Station #7 in their November 2007 issue with the highest ranking of a Gold Award and featured Peoria Fire Station #7 on the cover of their magazine. Additionally, Fire Industry Equipment and Research Organization (FIERO) honored Peoria Fire Station #7 with a second top merit award. Each station portfolio was judged by form, function, location and resources available to meet the needs and unique challenges facing fire departments and their communities. Peoria Fire Station #7 cost approximately 3.3 million dollars to build. It is a 10,700 square foot neighborhood fire station with three bays and a patrol office for the Police Department. The station currently houses a paramedic fire engine, a technical rescue team (TRT) support vehicle and a brush truck. One of the many outstanding features of Peoria Fire Station #7 is the natural stone tile design, which was chosen to compliment the surrounding communities. Lawrence Enyart Architects, Inc (LEA) were the architects responsible for the design of this project and FCI Constructors, Inc were the contractors on the project. The fire station opened for service to the citizens of Peoria on August 18, 2007 and was dedicated by the Mayor and Council on October 12, 2007. Peoria Fire Station #7 was positioned in northern Peoria to lower emergency response times in that area. ### Serving with: Strength · Honor · Compassion
