HAPPY VALLEY ROAD

Project Description
This project will provide a vital east-west link for northern Peoria by constructing the missing segment of Happy Valley Road over the New River between Lake Pleasant Parkway and 75th Avenue. This new link to Peoria's street network will also provide additional options for traffic now using Lake Pleasant Parkway, 83rd Avenue, 67th Avenue, and Deer Valley Road. The improvements will include one lane of roadway in each direction plus bike lanes, street lighting, landscaping, drainage, and a 16-inch waterline. The pavement will ultimately serve as the three westbound lanes of what will become a six-lane roadway.

Project Status
The final design plans were completed July 2006. The City is now in the process of acquiring the necessary land for the roadway. Funding for construction is available in fiscal years 2008 and 2009.
