The Customer Service section's responsibilities are to collect water, wastewater and sanitation user's fees; process sales tax and business license applications and issue licenses; process & verify sales tax returns; initiate and process applications for new service and termination of service; initiate service orders for delivery of sanitation containers, meter installations, repairs and replacement, water leaks, and process or investigate customer complaints; answer and assist customers in person and over the phone, or by email.

Establishing New Service

1. If you own the residence, we require that you provide us with your escrow number, title company name and phone number, and your closing date. This information can be provided over the phone. You will also be asked for your social security number, place of employment, home & work phone numbers as well as the date you want the services to be effective. Please call at least one day before you want services to be initiated. Your first billing will reflect a one-time $28.00 turn-on fee.

2. If you are renting or leasing a home in the City of Peoria, you will need to bring your signed lease/rental agreement, a $200 deposit, and an application for services to our office.   You can click here to download an application for services or complete the application when you arrive at our office. We ask that you provide the following information on this application: Name(s) you want on the utility account, social security number(s), place of employment(s), home and work phone number(s).  When you arrive at our office, we will make a copy of the lease agreement, collect the $200 (Deposit), process the service application, and schedule connection of your service(s). Water Fees: For most individual residential accounts, a base water charge of $13.75 includes the first 1,000 gallons of water usage. Water usage that exceeds 1,000 gallons is billed at the following rates:

• from 2,000 to 5,000 gallons = $1.45 per 1,000 gallons

• from 6,000 to 10,000 gallons = $2.61 per 1,000 gallons

• from 11,000 - 25,000 gallons = $3.14 per 1,000 gallons

• all water usage exceeding 25,000 gallons is $3.74 per 1,000 gallons.

• Commercial and Multiple residential accounts have different rates and the base water charge varies depending on the size of the meter.

Sales Tax: A City, County & State sales tax is imposed on water fees at a rate of 9.60%.

State Water Quality Tax: A mandated fee of $.0065 per 1,000 gallons of water usage for the preservation of water quality is charged to your account and is paid to the State of Arizona monthly.

Sewer Fees: Charges for residential sewer services are based on the monthly average water usage during the previous December through March. Based upon this average, the rate changes with the July bill each year. New residential customers receive a flat charge based upon the average usage of a residence in the City of Peoria until a monthly average has been established during the measurement period of December through March. Sewer charges for commercial accounts include a base fee of $3.02 plus $2.28 per 1,000 gallons of water usage.

Sanitation Fees: A monthly charge of $14.56 is assessed for a 90 or 60 gallon container or manual pick up account. Trash is picked up twice weekly and special pick ups are available at a charge of $25.00 for every 15 minutes. Large commercial containers are available at various sizes and prices. Storm Water Fee:  A Storm Water surcharge of $1.00 is charged to each utility account.
