A Peoria resident since 1985, Pat Dennis has been elected to three consecutive terms on the city council since 1995. She served as Vice Mayor for one year terms in 1999, 2001 and most recently in 2005. Councilmember Dennis graduated from Mercy College with a degree in Social Work and worked in early childhood education for 14 years. Currently she works as a licensed real estate agent.

Statewide Participation:
Arizona Women in Municipal Government (WiMG); 1996 – Present
     Treasurer; 2004 – Present
     Provides a forum for communication and networking among women municipal officials and their colleagues.

Regional Participation:
Member, Valley Metro Transportation Board; 1999 – Present
     Chairperson 2001-2002; 2004 – Present
     Charged with developing a regional transit plan, finding a dedicated funding source for transit, and developing and operating a regional transit system.

Member, Maricopa Association of Government (MAG); Transportation Policy  Subcommittee; 2002 – Present
     Provides regional planning and policy decisions in areas of transportation, air quality, water quality, regional development, and human services.

City Participation:
Vice Mayor: 1999, 2001, 2005

Chairperson, Boards and Commissions Sub-Committee; 1995-2003
     Reviews applications from residents seeking to serve on one of the cities many citizen advisory boards or committees.

Chairperson, Ethics Committee; 2005
     Investigates allegations of misconduct of Board and Commission members, the  Mayor, and Council members.

Member, Not-For-Profit Funding Sub-Committee; 1998 – Present
     Reviews grant applications for money budgeted by the City that is set aside to be used for funding to  not-for-profit agencies whose programs benefit the citizens of the City.

Member, Sports Complex Board; 1999-2001
     Responsible for reviewing and approving secured or unsecured loans for the purposes of financing or refinancing the acquisition, construction, improvement or equipping of the City of Peoria Sports Complex.

City Council Liaison, Education Committee; 1996 – Present
     Cooperative participation between the City and each of the local school districts in Peoria seeking to jointly consider issues pertinent to the educational process.
