City of Peoria Special Events   Next Event - Peoria's Oldtown Holiday Festival & Gingerbread Competition   Peoria's Oldtown Holiday Festival & Gingerbread Competition   December 4, 2009 5:00pm – 9:00pm Oldtown Peoria - 83rd Ave just south of Grand    Nothing will get you into the spirit of the season quicker than a visit to the Oldtown Holiday Festival. With carolers strolling about, the soft glow of the lighted trees, the smell of roasted almonds and kettle korn, the chill from the snow… That’s right, SNOW!   Nearly 20 tons of snow is brought in from the “North Pole” for kids young and old to play in.
