Election Information
The City of Peoria holds regularly scheduled elections in the fall of even numbered years. The Mayor is elected at-large and Councilmembers are elected within their respective district.
August 24, 2010 Primary Election
The next Primary Election will be held on August 24, 20101 and the offices of Mayor and Councilmember in the Acacia, Pine, and Palo Verde districts will be voted on. If necessary, a General Election will be held on November 2, 2010.
1In 2009, the Arizona Legislature moved the 2010 primary election from August 31, 2010 to August 24, 2010. See Ariz. Sess. Laws 2009, Ch. 149. This law must be precleared by the U.S. Department of Justice in accordance with Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act before it can become effective.
