The Peoria Fire Department reminds you: Leave the fireworks to the professionals.
Each year Arizona families, despite annual warnings, choose to use legal and illegal fireworks on the 4th of July. This year, like every other, fireworks will cause an increase in emergency room visits, structure fires, grass field fires and structure damage. While no one wakes up in the morning of the 4th expecting to end up a burn victim, 10,000 Americans will end the day that way. According to the National Fire Proctection Association, fireworks will cause seven civilian deaths and $34 million in property damage.
