NEW RIVER TRAIL - OLIVE AVENUE UNDERPASS

Project
Description
This project is for an underpass located at Olive Avenue on the
west side of New River. The underpass would allow for a
safe crossing at Olive Avenue, and will provide uninterrupted
use along the trail alignment. Design of this project is
currently in progress with Federal dollars through MAG.
Peoria is anticipating a $400,000 reimbursement from ADOT, from
project CS00063, and we have an approved CMAQ grant for $700,000
available in 2011.

Status
The underpass is in
it's final stages of construction. The contractor
anticipates to have the north side of Olive Avenue open for
traffic at the end of April, this will allow for all four lanes
to be operational, free of traffic barricades.
