75th AVENUE AND THUNDERBIRD ROAD INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTS (EN00089)
Project
Description
75th Avenue
and Thunderbird Road is the fifth busiest intersection in the
City of Peoria. Currently, the two lanes in each direction,
with single left-turn lanes, has been causing longer delays and
the traffic engineers have concluded that the intersection needs
to be improved to maintain traffic flow. This project will
widen the intersection to include three through lanes in each
direction, with dual left-turn lanes. There will also be a bike
lane and new sidewalks. Other improvements include upgraded
lighting, raised medians and improved signal equipment to
enhance the safety of the intersection.
