The Arts Commission is one of twenty city advisory boards and commissions appointed by the City Council.  It has seven members and staff support is provided by the city's Department of Communications and Public Affairs.

Peoria Arts Grant Program

The Peoria Arts Commission has officially kicked off its annual arts grant program for 2008. The goal of the arts grant program is to increase the number of arts opportunities available in Peoria. Under the program, qualified nonprofit organizations can apply for up to $3,000 in project grant assistance for performing arts or visual arts. The projects must take place in Peoria and demonstrate a direct benefit to the community. During 2008, a total of $30,000 will be made available through the grant program. Grant applications must be submitted no later than April 4, 2008.

May 2008 –City of Peoria, Arizona, Rio Vista Recreation Center
Call to Artists Deadline August 1, 2008.

The Peoria Arts Commission has announced a Call to Artists for the creation and installation of indoor artwork at the Rio Vista Recreation Center in Peoria, Arizona. The project budget is up to $50,000. Appropriate mediums include painted mural, sculptures, sculptural relief, and other similar art objects. A selection committee will invite up to three semi-finalists to develop complete proposals. Each semi-finalist will receive a $1,500 stipend to pay for out-of-pocket costs associated with the competition.
