- On average, in 2006,
each Peoria Utilities customer used 182 gallons of water
each day.
- There are 792 miles of
water pipes and 614 miles of sewer pipes throughout the
city.
- Peoria has 12,696
sewer manholes and 7,749 fire hydrants.
- Turning off the water
while you brush your teeth can save more than two
gallons a minute or 100 gallons a week for a family of
four.
- Approximately 2/3 of
the water used in an average residential home goes to
landscape irrigation.
- More than 70,000 water
quality tests were performed on Peoria’s water in 2006.
