WATER CONSERVATION – ANOTHER SUPPLY

Effective water conservation measures are encouraged by the City to help ensure that sufficient water resources are available today and for future generations. Water Conservaton mascot, Misty.Water conservation may actually be considered another supply of water. The water we choose to save today becomes water our children and grandchildren can use tomorrow.

The citizens of Peoria have already made progress in reducing their water use. The City measures this by calculating how the average water use per person changes over time. In the last ten years, the average daily water use per Peoria water customer has decreased from approximately 200 gallons per day to 188 gallons per day in 2004.

Water conservation is easy, and it doesn’t require major changes in the way you live your life. The City of Peoria’s Water Conservation Division offers assistance, incentives, and a variety of resources to help you make the small, everyday changes that will add up to large water savings.
