Volunteering is a very important part of our community. We have listed several volunteer organizations within Peoria, but there are many more within Arizona.

For additional opportunities that suit your interests, visit the Governor's Commission on Service & Volunteerism. The Governor's Commission builds an ethic of service and volunteerism by working in local and statewide partnerships with public and private sectors, tribal governments, community and faith-based organizations to initiate, motivate, enhance, and maintain service and volunteerism opportunities that strengthen communities and improve the quality of life for all Arizonans.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a ten-week program that educates citizens about the hazards they face in their community and trains them in life safety and other emergency services skills. Following a disaster, these citizen-responders use their training as part of a neighborhood or workplace team to help others when emergency services providers are overwhelmed or not immediately available. Find out when the next City of Peoria CERT program is starting! You can also find out more about CERT from Arizona Division of Emergency Management.
