Staff Services Bureau
The Staff Services Bureau is part of the Special Services Division and is responsible for the Human Resource functions for the police department as well as all training for current and new employees.
This training includes In-Service Training, the Field Training Program, Pre-academy and post-academy training, firearms training, as well as facilitating professional training outside of the department. Promotional processes and the Department’s Mentoring program are administered through the bureau as well.
The Peoria Police Department is an Internationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency through
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
The program is maintained and compliance is ensured through the Staff Services Bureau.
The Staff Services Bureau is commanded by a Lieutenant. The Lieutenant has overall responsibility for the Bureau to include management, budget and operational support.
