Family burned out of house by arson fires
helped by Peoria Police

Date/Time
Wednesday, December 20, 2006
5:15 p.m.

Location
8130 N. 112th Avenue

On December 17th at 7:35 p.m. and December 18th at 1:15 a.m., the family home of Josh and Heather Quezada located at 10473 N. 76th Drive was burglarized and then set on fire by unknown persons while the family was out of town. The suspects stole a new Dell computer still in the box, Christmas presents for the family and other items. As a result of both fires the family lost all their personal possessions. Josh and Heather had moved to the house as a rent to own with their two daughters’ ages 3 and 6.

The holiday season is to be filled with joy and happiness. Unfortunately, this holiday season for the Quezada family is one of loss and frustration. As members of the Peoria Police Department we have a commitment to our community and keeping with that commitment the City of Peoria Police Supervisors Association (COPPS) and the Peoria Police Officer’s Association (PPOA) have combined resources to help the Quezada family. The family will be presented $750.00 in gift cards to purchase needed clothing and presents for the children so this Christmas will not be void of the holiday spirit.

If anyone has information on these crimes they are asked to call the Peoria Police Department Tip Line at 623-773-7045 or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS.
