DUI TASK FORCE IN PEORIA NABS IMPAIRED DRIVERS

 A Holiday DUI Task Force was held in the Peoria area on Saturday, November 26, and as a result 28 people were arrested for DUI.  The task force was hosted by the Peoria Police Department in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and involved a total of 6 agencies and 36 officers. Other participating agencies included Avondale Police Department, Buckeye Police Department, Glendale Police Department, Goodyear Police Department, and Surprise Police Department.

 The total numbers from all participating agencies are: 

 Contacts—270

After 2:00 AM contacts—6

Extreme DUI—6 (extreme is any DUI with a BAC .15 or greater)

Misdemeanor DUI—22

Minor consumption—6

Minor DUI—1 (person under 21 years old arrested for DUI)

Average BAC--.146

Hazardous Citations—93 (citations for speeding, red lights for example)

Seat belt cites—10

 The next DUI Task Force scheduled for Peoria will be on Friday, December 9, 2005.
