November 24 starts holiday
patrols Peoria Police step up patrols and enforcement in shopping areas The Peoria Police Department’s Commercial Enforcement Unit and Neighborhood Action Team will be starting their holiday season shopping center patrols and enforcement Friday November 24 and it will run until Saturday December 30. During this time the officers from these units will be involved in high intensity patrols of the major shopping areas in Peoria and will include strict enforcement of handicap parking violations. The officers will be patrolling in marked and unmarked police vehicles and on bicycles. The locations of the patrols are: 83rd Avenue to 73rd Avenue and Bell Road 91st Avenue and Peoria Avenue 91st Avenue and Northern The goal of these patrols is to ensure that citizens visiting these areas for shopping, dining or entertaining area as safe as possible. We do want to remind everyone that we need their eyes and ears to help us keep the areas safe. If they see anyone acting suspicious or loitering in the parking lots we ask that they contact us immediately. By working together we can make this a safe and happy holiday season. ### |
