PEORIA POLICE WELCOME BACK
MIKE TELLEF
The Peoria Police
Department is proud to announce the addition of Mike Tellef to the
PIO Team. Mike will be the Department’s primary Public Information
Officer (PIO) effective October 24th.
Mike comes back to the Peoria Police Department from the Peoria Fire
Department. He was employed as a Peoria Police Officer for over
twenty (20) years, retiring as a Sergeant in 1998. Upon his
retirement he went to work as a Fire Prevention Specialist and PIO
for Peoria Fire, where he has worked for the last seven (7) years.
Mike is a Board Member for the Drowning Prevention Coalition of
Central Arizona, the Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County, and
Leadership West. He is FEMA Advanced PIO certified, and currently
serves as the Vice President of the National Information Officers
Association (NIOA).
Mike’s experience and training will be a valuable addition to the
Peoria Police Department, and we are proud to have him on our staff.
