An early morning collision between a pick-up truck and bicycle left the rider of the bicycle dead. The collision occurred on Monday, September 25, at 4:55 am in the 8100 block of Grand Avenue. Both the truck and the bicycle were headed west on Grand Avenue when the bike rider, who was along the curb, turned left and rode directly in the path of the truck which was in the inside lane. The rider of the bicycle, 33 year old James M. Trice of Glendale, was treated at the scene and transported to John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix where he was pronounced dead at 5:30 am.
