Dad arrested in death of son Suspect: Keith Scott Roberts DOB: 09-29-70 Count 1: 2nd Degree Murder Count 2: Child Abuse Being held on a bond of $2 million Victim: Thane Roberts 8 weeks old On June 3, 2006 at about 3:45 PM the suspect called his wife and asked her to come home as something was wrong with the victim. When she got home she noticed the baby in distress and called 911. The baby was transported to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and then flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where he died on June 6, 2006. The medial examination determined the cause of death was non-accidental head trauma caused by shaken baby syndrome. During the investigation conducted by detectives from the Peoria Police Department Family Crimes Unit the suspect admitted his involvement, was arrested on August 2, 2006 and booked in the 4th Avenue Jail on the above listed charges. This incident occurred at the family home in the 8600 block of West Laurel Lane in Peoria and the victim is survived by his mother and a 3 year old brother. ### |
