Peoria Police to hold Golf Ball Drop
fundraiser for Special Olympics Date/Time Saturday August 5, 2006 9:00 AM to Noon Golf ball drop at Noon Location Peoria Sports Complex Stadium 16101 N. 83rd Avenue Balls can be purchased the day of the event or by calling 623-773-7063 Through Thursday August 3 they can be purchased at the flowing locations as well: Peoria Kia, 91st Avenue north of Bell Road Estrella uniforms, 1076 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear West Valley Uniforms, 8815 W. Peoria Avenue Car Quest Auto Stores 802 S. 51st Avenue, Phoenix 12801 Grand Avenue, Surprise 5434 W. Glendale Avenue, Glendale On Saturday August 5th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Peoria Police Department will host a Golf Ball Drop Fundraiser Event for Special Olympics at the Peoria Sports Complex Stadium. As part of the event the Police Department will have police equipment on display and there will be other organizations on hand with safety information, including a VIN etching, so you can get your vehicle’s identification number etched on your windows to help prevent auto theft. There will be activities for kids of all ages, including a Dunk-A-Cop tank and fingerprinting. At noon a Native Air medical helicopter will drop golf balls on to the stadium’s outfield. The semi-finalists with the six balls closest to the Peoria KIA flag will meet at Peoria KIA on Saturday August 19th for a chance at winning a new KIA. In addition, contestants can instantly win a variety of prizes if their ball lands closest to other flags marking those prizes. The golf balls will be on sale for $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00 and you do not need to be present on August 5th to win the instant prizes or to qualify for a chance to win a new KIA. |
