Peoria Police motorcycle officers have new tool
to keep our streets safe-Moving Radar In an effort to reduce collisions that are often related to speeding vehicles, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has awarded a grant to the Peoria Police Department to enhance its traffic enforcement efforts. The $50,300 grant will fund moving radar equipment for eight police motorcycles. The radar units will allow officers to cover a much larger area while enforcing speed regulations rather than having to remain stationary. The grant also provides overtime funds for officers to be on the streets more often. The Peoria Police Department and Governor’s Office remind motorists “Speed Shatters Life”. ### |
