One vehicle crash kills
passenger and lands driver in jail Suspect Information: Erica Lopez H/F DOB: 01-27-81 (driver of vehicle) Resident of El Mirage Charges: 1 count: Manslaughter 1 count: DUI Victim Information: David Gonzales H/M 25 years (passenger of vehicle) Resident of Peoria Pronounced dead at the scene On Saturday July 8, 2006 at approximately 9:30 AM a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Erica Lopez was northbound on 69th Avenue from Olive when it went out of control in the 9400 block and struck a block wall on the west side of 69th Avenue. As a result of the collision the passenger, David Gonzales, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, Erica Lopez, received only minor injuries. She was treated at John C. Lincoln Hospital North Mountain and after being released she was transported to the Peoria Police Department where she was processed for DUI and then booked into the MCSO 4th Avenue Jail on the charges listed above. ### |
