SUSPECT ARRESTED IN DEATH OF CHILD Suspect Information Raynaldo Martin Diaz DOB: 10-15-1970 Booked on Maricopa County Superior Court Warrant issued 04-28-06 Count 1: Murder 1st degree, Dangerous Crime Against Child Count 2: Child Abuse, Dangerous Crime Against Child Bond: $1 Million On December 6, 2005 at 9:42 AM Peoria Police and Fire units responded to a house located at 11400 N. 80th Drive in Peoria. The caller, Raynaldo Diaz, reported a medical problem with the 15 month old son of his girlfriend. Raynaldo is not the biological father of the victim. Upon arrival the only two people at the house were the suspect Raynaldo and the victim. The victim was immediately transported to a valley hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:34 AM. The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of death was a homicide. As a result of further investigation a Maricopa County Superior Court Grand Jury warrant was issued on April 28, 2006 and the suspect was arrested by Peoria Police Department detectives on May 3, 2006. The suspect was booked at the Peoria Police Department and transferred to the MCSO 4th Avenue Jail. |
