Two recent crashes in Peoria have left 4 dead

On Saturday April 1 at 12:30 AM a three vehicle crash killed two on State Route 74 at mile Post 25. A Honda Accord driven by David Chavez (20 years old) from Victorville, California was west bound on State Route 74 when a Chevrolet pick-up driven by Raymond T. Zutt (36 years old) from Scottsdale, crossed the center line causing a head on collision. As a result of the collision, Chavez was killed and Zutt was ejected from his vehicle. Zutt was sitting in the roadway after having been checked by passersby when he and his truck were hit by a Chevrolet box truck that was west bound on State Route 74 killing Zutt. The driver of the box truck, Samuel L. Paintin (46 years old) from Peeples Valley, Arizona was not injured.

The second crash took place on Monday, April 3 at 5:40 PM on State Route 74 at mile Post 22. A Chevrolet Camero was east bound on State Route 74 when the driver lost control after passing another vehicle, sliding sideways across the center line and was struck on the passenger side by an east bound Ford Taurus. Christopher Ray White (20 years old) from Phoenix, the driver of the Camero, and the passenger Paul Anthony Robles (20 years old) from Glendale were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Taurus, Bobby Hunzinger (41 years old) from Congress, Arizona, was flown to John C. Lincoln Hospital North Mountain with non-life threatening injuries.
