Peoria Police Seek Assistance in Identifying
Suspect The Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole a bait car around 4:30 a.m. on February 5, 2006, from the area of 72nd Avenue and Cactus in Peoria. We can provide a DVD recorded from within the vehicle that shows the theft, the thief with the vehicle underway, and his dramatic escape from the vehicle, during which he kicks out the window. Peoria officers were in the vicinity responding to the bait car activation, but the suspect was able to escape the vehicle and elude the officers. The suspect is a white male, approximately 5’10”, 160 pounds. He appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s, and has a moustache and goatee. The DVD is approximately 4 minutes in length, and reveals that the suspect is wearing some type of employer issued name tag that is unreadable, but its shape and design may be recognizable to some of your viewers. Efforts to enhance the images did not produce anything clear enough to read the tag. The file is not in a format that can be sent electronically, but free copies of the DVD are available. Please contact me if you would like to arrange to pick one up. |
