Larry
Ratcliff
began his law enforcement career in 1975 as a
Corrections Officer in Oregon. Beginning in 1977 he
spent eight years as a Deputy Sheriff before
transferring to the City of Portland Police Bureau
in 1985. He rose through the ranks from Patrol
Officer to Captain during his 17-year tenure with
that agency and joined the Peoria Police Department
as the Operations Division Deputy Police Chief in
August 2002. Chief Ratcliff holds a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Psychology from Portland State
University, is a graduate of the 197th session of
the FBI National Academy, and has received
immeasurable training hours related to tactical
operations and leadership.
