NEW RIVER TRAIL UPDATE
What's
new:
Because the New River Trail
has Federal funding, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is
assuming responsibility for the construction of the trail.
Construction of the trail
started the week of March 24th and is estimated to be complete by mid to
late summer.

Background:
The City of Peoria will soon have
approximately 2 miles of new trail along the west bank of New River
between Grand and Olive Avenues.
The New River Trail project is funded
through grants from the Transportation Enhancement Act for the 21st
Century (TEA-21) and the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ)
grant
programs. These are federal grant programs that are administered
through the State of Arizona.
