Road Closures for Annual Holiday Festival in Peoria

Road closures have been announced for Peoria's Annual Old Town Holiday Festival on Friday, November 30. Beginning at 12:00 p.m., the city of Peoria will close Washington Avenue from 83rd Avenue to 85th Avenue, Jefferson Street from 83rd Avenue to 85th Ave


Road closures have been announced for Peoria's Annual Old Town Holiday Festival on Friday, November 30. Beginning at 12:00 p.m., the city of Peoria will close Washington Avenue from 83rd Avenue to 85th Avenue, Jefferson Street from 83rd Avenue to 85th Avenue and 84th Avenue between Peoria Road and Jefferson Street.

The Peoria's Annual Holiday Festival will be in Peoria's Osuna Park, across from the Peoria Center of Performing Arts, south of 83rd Avenue and Grand Avenue. Parking and admission are free. Some activities have a nominal fee. Parking is available at the Peoria Community Center, accessed from Monroe Street or 84th Avenue. Additional parking is available on the streets and city parking garages surrounding the event.

Events for the festival begin at 5:00 p.m. In addition to the activities in Osuna Park, the Old Town area shops will be open and many of the kid's games and rides will be located on the surrounding streets in the historic Old Town area of Peoria. The event will feature live entertainment, a visit from Santa, snow play with 20 tons of snow, ice rink, wagon rides, inflatable's, the APS Kids Zone with cookie decorating and other kids’ activities. The Four Seasons Orchestra-String Quartet will start the night off by performing at 5:15 and will be followed by the annual High School Choral Contest starting at 6:00 p.m. inside the Peoria Center for Performing Arts.

Osuna Park will also feature artist and craft vendors displaying and selling crafts. The annual tree lighting will occur at approximately 8:30 p.m.
